Abstract

This interview aims to present the work of three authors – Lena Merhej, Shaun Tan e Gianluca Costantini – in the wider context of this issue which collects contributions about the use and the possibilities of comics in the storytelling and representation of migrations. After a brief focus on the concept of crossing and on its meaning regarding on the one hand the migration movement and on the other, a language which reading implies both iconic and verbal text decoding, the purpose of this dialogue is to offer a reflection of the shared elements and practices of gaze, identity and documentation in the creation of their most outstanding works.
